Hey

I've been on edge getting into PC gaming latly. I want a console like PC for my 1080p 42inch 60hz TV because I have no space for a desk .

Problem is the mix reaction with PC gamers on useing a TV for gaming with response times has put me off and maybe going for the PS4.

For my build I was thinking off going with a i3 paired with a gtx 750ti for low power consumption but instead thought about pairing a Xeon 1231v3 with a gtx 970.

Sorry for long post really want to get back into PC gaming. Haven't game on PC sine windows 98 on theme park world lol

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

As a hybrid gamer (whatever it's called when you both game on PC and console), I normally advise people to opt out for a console when they can't afford to spend more than $600 on a PC. This is because till that budget range, you won't really be much ahead any console in terms of graphical quality, especially with how obscene the current gen ports / optimizations are.

The 750ti and i3 won't be able to keep up with the consoles. But yes, if it was between a Xeon / 970, and a ps4, the prior would of course be the better option. As for latency, you needn't worry about, it's really insignificant if it ever occurs to happen. So go with the PC if you can afford it, console controllers work great, and who knows? You might fancy a Steam Controller when they get released.

These are the settings I play witcher 3 on an i3-4130 and 750ti and I get a solid 40 FPS even in heavy rain and lightning. http://pcpartpicker.com/b/wxccCJ
