Does a router matter much in the speed of a pc build?

TP-LINK TL-WN881ND 300Mbps Wireless N PCI Express Adapter. Thanks for you answers guys! Would any of these adapters be ok? I've seen these ac ones coming in at about 50 pound which I dont have the money for. I cant directly connect my pc with ethernet a swell when I build it. I'm sorry I dont really understand some of the specs coming in. I dont know much about network adapting etc.

most optimal would be to direct wire you router to the PC would connect with max 100MBps speed and then have everything else wireless such as iphone, droid, tablet, cast and roku; wouldn't slow them down.
if you go wireless with your pc then end up with either 144.5 mbps or worse 76mbps depending on distance and ssd would be under whelmed it would take you like 5 min just to transport 1gig from 1 pc to another vs 100Mbps = just a few seconds, you would have a seriously higher ping if you planned on gaming cause none of those devices are for gaming. (I looked up the specs of you router/modem).
again direct connect would be simpler and faster router-> internet-> done! gaming

i only recommend wireless for routers say "AC or n900 standards" usem for friends, iphone chromecast and tablets and laptops... my router sits on top of my pc and is wired. good luck

I may have misunderstood something but, no you ssd slow down, it is fast in and for itself and will speed up your pc(it is technically just a fast HDD all it is). if you are going to buy a wireless adapter buy one for the future and get a AC standard one they are backwards compatible and will work even better when you decide to buy a new router in the future.
