I've been trying to fix up an hp mini 210-4150nr, but it takes an extremely long time to post. I tried swapping out the cmos battery to see if that fixed it, but it didn't. Once it actually gets into windows it runs fine. Would it be a bios issue? If it is I don't see any option in the bios to flash it. The laptop's battery also stopped being recognized, so I have to have it plugged into the wall. The battery was working fine an hour ago. I'm at a loss right now. What do you guys think it is?

Solution
Would a failing hard drive be the cause of the computer taking so long to even get to the post screen? - Yes.

Alos run the manufacturer's diagnostic software eg seagate - seatools, wd - lifeguard

I ran the HP startup test and everything passed besides the hard disk short dst which it said it failed. This would explain a lot of different things. Would a failing hard drive be the cause of the computer taking so long to even get to the post screen? I've never had a failing hard drive cause that to happen before. I'm currently running a disk check on it. The hard drive isn't making any grinding or clicking noises.
