It must be a system specific tweak. My system was very governed by factory limits. I did the ECPNode tweak and instantly doubled my speed. Do some research on your system. Find a program that tells you what your RAM is running at MHz' (like speccy) and then open the case or laptop bottom and write down the code on the RAM. Search that code online for speed specs.
I have Ram capable of double the speed that the system is running it at. Being that it is a laptop this makes some sense. BUT this is governed for the general population and any user conditions. What if I am seriously mindful about cooling and cleaning my hardware? If I am a common user who never cleans out the vent grills than I should not do any speed tweaks.
Why do I care to answer? I have a duo2core DDR2 system running faster than my i3 DDR3 system due to system governs. That made me ask why I spent the money on a new system if it is slower than my 6yr old system? Things have changed as for computers and software.
You must inform yourself and do not just go doing any old tweak out there without background knowledge. You yourself slot you into the "End User" (common person who doesn't care to know what bus speed or BIOS means to me) or Happy Informed user.
My system (in fact all of them) has made me search and learn. Because I knew it had more power and could do so much better than it was. I refused to just scrap it and go buy the next step up before learning. Change the CPU! Or maybe your Ram is a MHz slower than the bus speed can handle? Check the bus speed that the system is running at to see if it is software governed. You may have amazing hardware that is held back on purpose (for reason, but not applicable to everyone).
Who informs you? In the end, it is you that informs you. If you do not care to know, that's fine, no problem. Just buy a faster system and sell those like me, this system that you are not happy with. Due to governs.
Governing is useful, for those who need that.

A video by a serial prankster (check his other videos with amazing offers like "How to get a computer for free" and "How to get a car for free").

Under Control Panel / System / Device Manager, highlight the ECPNode device (under System Devices) and select Properties.

Under the Driver tab you want to select the Uninstall button.

You may need to first enable UAC / Change Settings under the General tab if you are not running Device Manager as Administrator.

So one can not have a great sense of haha' and be decent? Is it that narrow a slot we all must fit into? So going out on the town with a psychiatrist must be a total drag than right? My reply was seriously only to inform. Understand just a BIOS made by insydeH2O and you grasp what I am saying. We use to be able to adjust the speed of ram and multipliers and such. Now we are treated as though we can't handle such things properly. The systems lock us down to mass safety only for those who require that so that they do not become a pain to customer service of any computer company.
Not all of us are such. And we are forced into writing our own BIOS to access our hardware as it can be, by competent people. Yes a laptop in the hands of any person out there should not be running too hot.
But again, not all of us treat hardware with such lack of knowledge. But due to the majority, we are all given products that assume we are that.
Anyway. If a genius can not also have a great sense of humor than your world must be pretty boring with such perspective.
We should be allowed to learn, hack, laugh and help without being labelled for any one of those as "Only one of those."
