Hey i just brought a New rig for gaming at 1366*768 panel
my spec which i will buy is
i5 4690
Msi H81 p33(ok for gaming only not overclocking)
8gb Kingston hyper x
Corsair vs650w
I am very much confused about the graphic card
help me out.
I am thinking of gtx 960/R9 270x/R9 280
My main objective is to play games at that res at ultra settings
I know that now all the cards can play at that with ultra
but I will not upgrade for like 3 years
So please suggest which card will be dominant after 3 years. Thanks in advance

Solution
my buddies son runs one [280x] he seems good with it just be sure it will fit your case well there like 11-13 inches long

but if you could hold off until the new amd r-300 release you may find something you like better and stronger with added features ?? [opinion]

unless you playing on MAX settings VRAM wont matter that much, but to be safe maybe get the 4GB version, mines the 2GB and it runs GTAV maxed

maxed means with AA?

no - not confused at all I would not go with any you listed to start with but if my arm was twisted I guess the a 280 or the 285 .

the 960 to e is over prced for the card it is - 200 bucks for a 2 gb card and 128 buss?? don't think so ..

i'll take the card with the memory and the wider buss anyday

actually if you gonna play at 1366x768 then the 960 STRIX will have no problem even with AA.

So at future at that res 2gb will be enough?

all I know is I still run my trusty old 7000 card and cant see investing in any of theses newer ones - it still does all I ask of it

I like the 280x but its so long I don't want to cram it in my case - it maybe for the best to hold off until the new refresh r-300 are out and then decide on what to do ??

But when will they be out?

that's what everyone else wants to know .. they [amd ] sets dates and then postpones -delays -

as you know amd's new motto is ''next year'' lol

but you should not be in bad shape with that 280 card seeing ams will carry over new support on them
' AMD revealed that it will support DirectX® 12 on all AMD Radeon™ GPUs that feature the Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture''

http://www.amd.com/en-us/press-releases/Pages/amd-demonstrates-2014mar20.aspx

I don't see no reason why that card cant go 3 more years - my 7000 card falls under that and i'll just keep running it as well unless it fails ..
