Saving money by buying components from the USA

Has anyone done this? I worked it out on a few products, you do actually save money so its worth it if they work in your machine. You would save over £125 on a geforce 980 excluding the cost of Postage and packaging.

Almost universally cheaper to source parts from your region of the world.

Unless you have a totally solid price from the seller that includes taxes, fees, shipping, etc. so there's no way possible for the cost to rise, and the seller has a long and pristine record, go for it.

Though if I ran into something like this, I'd worry that my part coming from overseas would turn out to be a brick.
