gtx 980 ti getting LESS FPS than gtx 970

First off want to say that the 980ti is a beautiful card and i love the way it looks and the specs and everything! but im a bit puzzled....

Currently a pretty active league of legends player, and while we all know its not a high graphic intensity game almost any card should be able to play it.

Im getting only about 150-250 fps average. And it really is all over the place.

One would say why are you complaining? thats a great amount of FPS. but WRONG.

I used to get over 400 FPS with my Gtx 970.

Even in CS:GO my 970 would get more fps than my current 980ti SC edition.

I'm very confused, and it's kind of bothering me. Although it isnt effecting performance, for me its a big bother.

I tried everything, and have been searching..... But i guess since its such a new card there isnt much info out there.....

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

lol sorry mate this is laughable...
getting more than 60 fps is a good thing when you have a 60 hz screen.
as it means you can limit the fps and the power consumption of your gpu.
getting 150-500 fps is an utter waste of gpu power, electrisity and genral wear and tear on your system.
why?
its all about the packet data mate.
most games sync there packet data to the fps. you get 60 fps you get 60 packets. which is perfect.
the problem arises when you break 60 on most games. the game itself still gets 60 packets but your now producing 120+ fps that means every other frame your displaying is the same as the last. basically your doubling up each frame with the packet data used by the previous frame.
get 180 fps+ and 3 frames will be exactly the same and so on.
by the time your at 300+ your getting 5-6 fames all the same which is more than your render ahead limit and will actually cause stutter.
you see where im going with this? nearly 70% of your machines performance is just not being seen.
my advice would be lock your fps to 60 or 120 (if you have a 120hz screen) you will get butter smooth playback and reduce the overall waste of performance.

as for where the problem could lie. it seems to be a driver issue atm. apps like gforce experience just aint picking up the hardware so its a likely cause.

I know exactly what you're saying bro... I know all about that. Im just saying its odd to ME. because when i first installed the card and opened up League. i was getting over 600 FPS....

Yeah i know its a waste of power and bla bla bla.... but for it to be getting 500-600 fps and now be getting 200. it just seems weird to me.... i also thought it was a driver issue, but kinda wanted to make sure.....

You saying thats what you think it is?

yes mate i have seen a few reports now of 980 ti's under performing. nvidia seem to have slightly bumped the release date to get the card out before the R9 390x goes on sale after this weekend.
end result is a slightly less than optimized driver for the TI.

I kind off have a similar problem! In CSGO i would usually get around 290-600 FPS. I'm a bit confused that now I only get 100-190. There has been no updates and I have not changed anything. BTW I have a GTX 980. Also I have noticed that my pc would get hot unless i turn the fans up to full power which never happened before!! Pls help!!
