+Do you have a specific monitor you would recommend for photo editing and intermediate gaming?

+Do you have any other thoughts about choosing a monitor, especially about 2K/4K vs 1080p resolution? (If I saved up, is it worth the switch, will it affect gaming performance much...)
I have the option to get a 27" Monoprice CrystalPro 2560x1440p IPS monitor at $270 right now (normally ~$400), which is what inspired these questions.
