My main gear is Asus P8Z77M-Pro + i5-2500k + stock intel cooler, 4GB@1333mhz of RAM and an Gigabyte GTX 770 WF OC.
Currently BIOS version 1908.

I'm asking because I have very bad experience with BIOS updating mainly on MSI Board. I bought an MSI B75A-G43 + i5-2500K with its latest BIOS version installed which started causing stricky POST BOOT (some time boot... sometime start loop... randomly... and at the end looped for ever until now). Now my Asus P8Z77-M Pro is not saving the settings on AI utility (DIGI + VRM, etc) like the case fans loss they settings and don't spin I have to set them again, my RAM go back to default clock whenever I boot it up and more stuffs. Some time it says "New CPU INSTALLED" My concerns is that my CPU is little old to combine it with very new BIOS version from 1155 MOBOS which can lead to a deadly LOOP issue as verdict of my research after what happened to me. Should I update the BIOS or not? Thank you.

From what I understand, the risk for a BIOS failure is pretty low these days. I personally have been around since the 186, 286, 386 systems, and I haven't had a BIOS failure problem with either the systems at work or at my home. Plus my systems now have motherboards which give some recourses if the BIOS failed to install.

I would wait to re-flash the BIOS until it was necessary as a precaution. But I do update the latest BIOS version. So I would recommend that you do update the BIOS if it is necessary.

make a back up first, on a usb drive, that is ready to re flash in case something goes wrong.
nowdays, its doubtful that a updated bios will harm your mobo, you prolly just had a bad experience with msi.

i would do it if i were you. sometime updates help with stabilty other times you get entierly new functions added to you bios which help with OC and stuff. and if you ever need to update your cpu for any reason you will need to update the bios anyway.

i bet if you use this you can even just update it in windows easy as 123

AI_SuiteII ASUS Update V2.00.12 is the version I'm using right now. What I want to know is that is safe to update my mobo to newer version of BIOS despite the age of CPU. thanks bro.

The easy way to determine that is to go to the webpage of your particular motherboard (under downloads). It will list the latest version of the BIOS for your motherboard. The latest version of AI Suites (for your motherboard) is listed under utilities on the same motherboard webpage.

If the CPU was compatible with the motherboard then you shouldn't have any CPU issues related to updating the BIOS.
