Problem updating gigabyte GA-H81M-H motherboard BIOS with q-flash utility

When I try to update the BIOS on my gigabyte GA-H81M-H motherboard using the Q-flash utility it says "BIOS ID check error". Got the update file from the gigabyte site. definitely from the correct model's page. Not sure what the problem might be. Apologies as I'm a bit of a novice

Ah, looks like it's rev 2.1. the gigabyte site only has F1 bios for this rev. The reason I was trying to update in the first place is because I installed a new CPU (i3 4160) at the same time and it's running painfully slowly. Any other reason for this? It definitely feels like something's wrong
