Hello people I'm about to purchase a new GPU so im hoping you guys can give me some input on the compatibility between components I currently have. Ive been running an ati radeon hd 4350 and I remember it was a struggle running anything higher than the lowest of the low settings so im looking to change that, as well as running other programs smoothly. Not planning on getting a powerhouse video card right now, maybe sometime in the future. I apologize if the brand models for some parts arent all there, I dont have access to my tower atm so ill just give the best information as best I can recall. Please let me know if some of these components will not function together, specially that GPU im planning on buying.

Case: Mid Tower ATX (HP e9120y: proprietary?)

^ Bought a prebuilt model a few years ago. Now im trying to take good parts from it and custom build as best as possible from there.

I had heard AMD Processors wont work with Nvidia Graphics cards ans vice versa...any truth to that?? Im sure the hdd and psu dont need to worry about compatibility. Im technologically illiterate so id appreciate any help you can offer!

Did I miss anything....

Oh my god.....so I should throw it out immediately? Is this for all models?? Im so pissed right now....im pretty sure I bought it at best buy too.....wow. is there anywhere I can sell it to? At least make some scraps instead of just dumping it?

Also everything else is compatible too? Processor, mobo

Sorry what does this mean? Itll negatively affect it?

That CPU won't be able to keep up with the new GPU's and will drastically slow the FPS and probably worse with freezing and etc. You'll have to set the game's video settings way down like you said you've been doing already.
