Cannot calibrate display :(

I've been trying to calibrate my display, but i CANNOT. Whether I use Nvidia control panel, or windows' "calibrate display color," as SOON as I slide the gamma slider, or the RGB sliders, the image reverts to what it was immediately. The slider stays in the same spot, but the image cannot be changed, in terms of gamma or RGB. The image only stays with changed settings for half a second, then reverts to crappy settings. Please help before I pull out all my hair, then kill myself.

One monitor is DVI and the other one is HDMI. I can't get it working on either screen. I don't know how long I've had this problem, but I've had it awhile. I got a new monitor, and the display out of the box is terrible, so I really need a fix now.

Yeah, but the monitors themselves can only fix brightness and contrast. I can't fix gamma and RGB
