Hello everyone,

I used to use a single GTX 980 without any issues until 1 month ago I bought another identical GTX 980 to enable SLI. I have been encountering BSOD randomly. It has happened ONLY about 11 times in the past month (3 today). All have been while watching youtube (and once while playing The Witcher 3).

The error message I get after restarting is the following:-

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033

The following solutions I tried but to no avail:-

  • Disabling SLI from Nvidia Control Panel. Still get BSOD when I disable it.
Uninstalling Nvidia driver and reinstalling it
    Updated BIOS
Using an older "more stable" GPU driver version
    Changed SLI Bridge connection

My PC specifications are:-

  • - Motherboard: Z97 Gaming 5 (MS-7917)
    - CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz
    - GPU: Nvidia Gefore GTX 980 SLI (MSI)
    - RAM: 16.0 GB
    - Power Supply: Corsair RM 850
    - OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
