Greetings all, hopefully Im in the right place. I;m not totally smart when It comes to hardware, mainly just understanding whether or not parts will work with current PSU and motherboard,

I have a Dell XPS 8700
* 12 GB RAM
* i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz

I have a stock GPU wich is GeForce gt 635 (A real piece of crap). I want to get a better graphic card to accommodate my awesome specs (RAM and Processors).

I'm set on buying: GeForce GTX 960 4GB SuperSC ACX 2.0+

I think my PSU meets the 400w minimum requirements, however, will I meet the "An available 8-pin PCI-E power connector"?

Solution
It's probably 16x 2.0, not 3.0. But 3.0 isn't needed as 2.0 is still sufficient for our fastest graphics cards with still room to spare. All 3.0 cards will work in a 2.0 slot.
While Dell XPS power supplies aren't bad and better than a normal dell or name brand computer psu, they aren't super PSU's. I've had good luck using a variety of GPU's with them, but they were all mid-level, need 1 6pin or something. While my old dell had 2x6pins on the psu, not sure if I use them or just buy a better PSU. Sucks buying a new PSU, but it's $60 well spent. I gave up on cheap PSU's a while ago. They always die on me and take out something important.

I mentioned the wrong information. I need to know if my PCU will support a PCI-E 3.0 16x

Well Im just gonna wing it and buy the card.

Lately I've been thinking of getting a new PC for gaming, but It seems that for $1000 I'd get a PC that has a dual core with a i5, thats unacceptable compared to my current i7 with 4Ghz

UPDATE

The card fit despite me telling myself there was no way it was going to fit upon seeing the size of it. Only issue is the SATA cord for my disk drive can not reach its port (too short of cord), my HDD SATA cord just made it, lucky me. Nvidia was nice enough to include a adapter to convert two open 6 pin connectors to one 8 pin.

I haven't upgraded my PSU. It's 460w, the card needs a minimum of 400w. With the Disk drive totally unplugged, I assume that frees up a little extra power. So I may be good for now.

* i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
* 1TB HDD
* NVIDIA Geforce GTX 960 4GB GDDR5

Awesome build if I say so myself.

I got the bigger one, the one with dual fans. But Yes, I got it in and downloaded the drivers, and it seems good so far. I assume if I get a longer cord I can eventually connect my DVD drive back in. But As I see it, I never use the DVD drive.

This pretty much sums up the size of the card compared to the PC
