Multiple applications won't open, leave unkillable processes

Hello

For technical details, I am running 64-bit Windows 7 installed to an SSD drive (both of my drives are SSDs). I'm running an overclocked i7-2700K and an NVIDIA GTX 670 (4GB edition). I am having an issue with multiple programs recently since about a month or two ago. The problem is this:

First starting with a 64-bit installation of Java Runtime Environment about two months ago, any application that uses Java would not launch properly and would leave large unkillable java.exe and javaw.exe processes. The applications that were run were Technic (a Minecraft mod manager), where the main menu worked fine but any attempt to load or create any worlds caused a freeze and the hanging process; default Minecraft (same as above); and Wakfu (which took around 5-7 minutes to launch the game, in which case it would make it to the login screen but after clicking login the application would freeze and leave the unkillable process).

Sometimes the Java processes did disappear after over ten minutes, usually after multiple tries of ending process/process tree.

I uninstalled Java as cleanly as I could from the various redists, Program Files and Appdata, and reinstalled using both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of both update 40 and update 45. Problem persists, and as a bonus the configuration tool for java also has a similar issue.

Next was NVIDIA GeForce experience, which after being installed and attempted to run it would leave the GeForce splash screen up, and refusing to launch. The only way to close the splash screen and processes was via restart.

Most recently, I've tried with Battlefield 4. After installation with all expansions through Origin, when opening its site to launch either a multiplayer or singleplayer campaign game, it will have a perpetual "Initializing", and will also spawn an unkillable BF4.exe.

I've had to reboot for all of these, and I've run sfc /scannow as well as some other disk and registry checking tools and various virus scans. sfc found no problems, no viruses were found by any of the various security programs (Malwarebytes, etc), and what few things were cleaned up by the utilities did nothing for this problem.

Thanks in advance

Sorry for the late reply

Aside from Windows updates and possibly drivers, I'm not otherwise sure. I've reinstalled GPU drivers multiple times after it manually (since Geforce no longer works). I've run sfc /scannow multiple times, used Glary's Tools and CCleaner, but none have seemed to solve the issue.

Any ideas for how I could further check into this? Thanks.
