4gb of ram only 2 usable

i have on my pc a 2x2gb ram sticks and for it being a 32bit it only has 3.25ram but that is not the problem the problem is that one morning when i booted my pc i noticed it was strangly slow i checked some stuff and i realized that the computer only detected that i have 2gb ram it doesnt say 4gb detected 2gb usable but just that there is only 2. please help me (sorry for my bad english not my native language)
i checked and individualy they are both working so physicly they work.

So one DIMM is not working properly? And if one DIMM seems to be very warm or hot, either the DIMM is faulty or the motherboard (DIMM slot) may be faulty.

Try ONE DIMM at a time and try different slots as well. This will help determine if the DIMM and/or the slot(s) are faulty.

Make sure the DIMM's are seated properly.

Try the DIMM's in other slots (if available).

Check that the CPU is mounted evenly; loosen CPU cooler mounting screws and re-tighten carefully/evenly. Maybe remove CPU cooler and then remount cooler carefully/evenly if necessary.

i tired it and i noticed that both of them would work only in one of the two ports for the ram sticks could it be a problem with the motherboard?
the strange thing is that the "not working stick" is realising heat.
