AMD Phenom II X6 1045T better on 2 or 4 sticks of ram

i can bump my ram from 8gb to 12gb but i think i am seeing a performance hit what do you think tried them both will have to do a ram test on a fresh boot. just wondering what you think.

Depending on what you do, 12 GB may show a slight overall performance increase, though primarily prob better with 8GB in dual channel, AMD CPUs don't have a very strong MC (memory controller) so going to 3 sticks is sort of iffy (and that's if the 3 sticks will even play together, no guarantees when mixing DRAM
