So my gpu keeps overheating to 106 degrees. I have an AMD 6100 processor and an HD 6870 graphics card. GPU is at around 50-60 degrees while idle and when I play a game it shoots up to around 106 and the pc shuts down due to over heating. I opened the case and put an external fan on the tower but it still overheats even tho I have 2 additional pwm fans inside the case.
My question is, do I need to buy more pwm fans or do I need to buy a new graphics card?
Thanks

106C and I did use afterburner, the fans were at max speed.
AMD FX(tm)-6100 6 core 3.3ghz processor
4gb ram
AMD HD Radeon 6870
I also added a big fan pointing towards the gpu so i doubt if extra fans will help the temperature.
Can this mean the graphics card is just outdated?
If so my motherboard has a PCIe x16 slot. Will it support the r9 280 graphics card?
