Hi guys, after walking away from my PC for half an hour I returned to be greeted by a blank screen which I thought was just power saving. After pressing all the buttons nothing came back. I know get the 1 long beep 3 short, which is the vga test fail and am convinced my old 5970 has died 
(sad times). I do play a lot of games but don't need 4k or sli.
So in a mad panic and with minimal research (my bad) I ordered a new card but now not sure if I've made the right choice. My budget was only £150 or so and after looking around none of the 900 series were coming in at around that sort of price that I liked. The best I found was the 960 which seemed decent for gaming. But at the same price I also found a gainward 770 phantom which seemed to perform better and was only £160. I found it brand new (so hopefully get warranty) and is cheaper than 960 slightly.
So my first question is, have I made the right choice? Is the newer technology worth it or will the 770 see me through. The other issue I have is about the vram. Again rushing it through and trying to stay on budget I ended up with a 2gb as the 4gb are another £50 or so which I don't really want to spend. Is the 2gb going to cost me in the long run or will I be a ble to still enjoy my games if I'm only using 1 monitor at 1080p?
