so i've got an nvidia gtx 660, which i would say is a decent card for the time right? 16gb of ram so i'm definitely good there. i'm looking to upgrade my CPU for better performance now as it's the lowest of the parts that i have right now. i don't know much about CPUs though so i don't know what CPUs would be considered good. my processor now is AMD A6-3670 APU with radeon HD graphics (4CPUs) ~2.7GHz

what would be a decent upgrade for me to be able to run the now games coming out this fall? i'm looking to be running fallout 4 with no problems. also would i have to get a new mother board getting a new CPU as well? my motherboard at this time is MSI A75MA-G55

uhm well supposing i want something good to be playing games with, i'll go with 500+ is a reasonable amount? less then 1,000 or 900 would be nice as well. and i mean yeah gaming on this computer, as well as going on websites and watching streams on twitch and all that

Dude you can go with an intel build for that much have you browsed around pcpartpicker.com to see other completed build around your budget? Start there first for gaming pc and when you like one of them come back and post it here for additional recommendation.

For Cpu - i5 4690k Gpu gtx 970 or 980

I'm sure bunch of people will start listing pc builds here.. lol

Intel I5 4690k is custom Pc's recommended processor for gaming rigs. This would mean a new motherboard but if you go on pcpartpicker you can design your own system with no fear of compatibility issues. Give it a try www.pcpartpicker.com

You asked if you have to buy a new mobo, yes you do and certain mobo's have certain capabilities and certain slots o fit your GPu and ram and stuff

I would recommend this combo but you will have to check mark the stuff yourself (http://www.portatech.com/products/product.cshtml?ID=79417&O=85705,79421&r=g&origin=product-search&kwd=&source=pla&gclid=Cj0KEQjwkv-rBRDwoMLav-2l9KIBEiQAUTkDU88qhN-rua5LaEfxcDjtGj_V8a75fed2XXn8tymNbUcaAirO8P8HAQ)

i7 4790k

Mobo: anything above the Asus H81M-K if you want to oc

depending on what warranties/shipping you get this will cost you around 390$-500$ from this website

dont comment or reply to this saying "this will bottleneck" very obviously yes it will in a GPU dependent but this will guarantee future upgrades on his gpu to not be bottle necking and also future proofed for a long time, and he will be able to handle ANYTHING with 60 plus fps that uses alot of cpu, (64 player rush bf4, and any large battles in games coming out)

yeah that website has amazing summer and spring sales, the spring sale for that was better though :p make sure to get the best shipping you can get too dont want broken parts showing up or anything its worth the extra money

also on a second note if you plan on Overclocking then get the Asus B85M-E CSM mobo, i have heard that it last a really long time and is worth the extra money

if you got that plus Platinum Deliv. Plan (Full Insur. - Heavier Packing - On Time Guarantee) $6.75 then your total would be $420.6 for an i7 with good mobo that has great oc capability and future proofed :)

if your going to upgrade i'd get the MSI gtx 970 4gb it should be $349.99

the gtx 660 to 960 wouldn't be a massive upgrade from what you have, though it would do about 10% better
