Just added a new heat sink to my desktop (specs below) and now it won't start. On power on, fans turn on and stay on, no beeps, and i can hear my hard drive, but it stops fairly quickly, unlike when it actually boots up.

Mobo: ASUS A5A99FX PRO R2.0
CPU: AMD FX 6100 Zambezi 6 core
Graphics card: Asus ENGTX 560 (GeForce GTX 560)

I've looked though the 'PERFORM THESE STEPS before psoing about POST/boot/no video problems'

It beeps once (~1 second long) when power is disconnected.

I've been told new mobo/processor. Any last minute ideas that might save it?

Windows 7

No I'm not hearing any beeps without RAM in.

Also, it didn't beep on power down like it had.

If no beeps, then It might be a motherboard or CPU issue. Try re-seating the CPU and heatsink. Check if any bent pins.
