So I have been reading into some stuff about the new Skylake-e processors, and was wondering does that already render the LGA 2011-v3 boards Obsolete? Clearly the performance isn't obsolete, but does that mean that the boards that they have made for them are all we get? I haven't seen many companies taking much interest in making new x99 motherboards. MSI seems to be the only ones still pushing out new x99 motherboards at least to my knowledge. I guess what I'm asking is do you think we will still see new x99 motherboards, and lga 2011-v3 boards from other brands like Asus, and Asrock?

Broadwell-E apparently will be able to use the 2011-v3 motherboards once they have had the BIOS updated to support the new Broadwell-e CPU's.
Skylake-E will need a new socket (and motherboard), just like the Skylake (non-E) CPU's will need the new 1151 socket.
