I recently bought a new for my PC. It only had 2 GB RAM.So in order to play latest games i bought a kingston hyperxfury 1866 Mhz DDR3 RAM. my older one .. the 2 GB RAM ..was 1333Mhz...
but when i plugged in my both RAMs and booted up the BIOS and Windows only detected 2 GB RAM. so i took out my 2 GB and tried to boot with just my new 4GB Kingston . and nowthe computer wont boot up..the fan is running but just a black screen ..that's all...my motherboard support only 1333 Mhz RAM for most...and this 1866 Mhz should run at 1333 Mhz right.? can anyone please help me.. i tried resetting CMOS ..but still no change.....i think flashing might help but i dont know HOW TO FLASH IT?

My specs are
CPU - Intel pentium E5700 3.0 Ghz
Mobo - Foxconn G41 MD ITL - D2 -123
PSU - 500 watts
GPU - GeForce Nvidia GT 640 1 GB GDDR5
HDD - just 160 GB. (not SATA)

So are you saying it was just a complete waste of money for me.? OK..well do you know any of the motherboards with LGA 775 socket which can use this RAM.. do you think getting a new mobo would help...or should i get a new processor and motherboard.. it would be better if there was a LGA 775 socket mobo which can support this RAM. ?

so are you saying getting a lga 1155 socket mobo is the solution.. what about a 1150 mobo and i3 3220. also even though my BIOS or Windows didn't detect the RAM CPU-Z did... it showed me 6 GB RAM.....why is it so?
