Hello People, i just wanted to ask, whether i will be able to use Corsair 4gb ddr RAM (1600)mhz, on my Gigabyte 78lmt s2pt (rev 4.x) motherboard. In official wedsite of Gigabyte its written "Support for 1333+/1066/800 MHz memory modules"... so will i be having any problem by using a 1600mhz RAM and downgrading it to 1333mhz and using it....PLZ help...

Solution
BIOS should automatically down-clock the module to suit the frequency (speed) rating of the system without overclocking applied, and provided that manual overrides have not been applied to memory settings in BIOS.

Clearing CMOS might be advisable to ensure BIOS is reset to automatic mode before installing/changing memory. This is also to ensure BIOS detects any changes in memory speed, capacity etc. by using different modules.
