Solution
Why get a 750ti as a placeholder when you can easily get a 970 now? I would get an i3-4160 for $120 less, would not need a $37 aftermarket cooler as I can use the boxed stock cooler. Hold off on the wireless network adapter for $40, grab an asrock z97m pro4 for $25 less, and get a nzxt s340 for $44 less. That makes $266 more to spend on the gpu, which means I have $400 to spend on a 970. You may wish to allocate the budget differently, like getting a locked i5-4590 instead which is still $40 less than the i5-4690k, but a better gpu now will worth your while.
