Screen flickering, possible graphics card issue?

Hey guys, i recently got a new computer with a 270x, the problem is that whenever i seem to knock the tower slightly the screen will flicker and sometimes even go off for me to get the AMD Catalyst Control Center to say it has rebooted up the graphics driver.

Anyone got a clue what's going on? I've tested inside and it seems that knocking the graphics card slightly seems to cause the problem.

I mean knocking the tower slightly, any bit of movement and screen will flicker like its the graphics card moving?

Vtx 3d version it is.

First. check that your video card is plugged properly in the motherboard, and properly plugged. If the motherboard needs power from the PSU make sure the PCI-e power cables are plugged all the way in the video card and PSU (if modular PSU).

Another thing I would do, would be to try a different HDMI cable, or a VGA cable or DVI cable, to make sure your cable is not defective. I had a flickering problem once and it was because of an old, defective hdmi cable.

Good luck

Hi, i have checked all cables and it all seems to be fine, i will go and try another hdmi cable when i can get my hands on one (only one in this house at the moment).

Would it be better if i show a small video of what happens? It's pretty easy to recreate.

You could if you want. But I think I understand what you are trying to describe. Does your video card has VGA port? or DVI? because this way you can also rule out the possibility that it is not the cable that is bad, but the actual port. Did you check if the video card is properly attached to the chassis? there's usually a screw or something to lock the video card in place where the output ports are.
