Pretty explanatory, My budget is around 410 and these fit in that price range, I plan to sli my gtx 970 next year or get a higher end card so which combo should I pick. I will do some streaming and some video editing, only some so idk if the i5 is that bad for streaming, the i7 combo is cheaper around 30 dollars cheaper but it is the z87 chipset so idk the difference however the board support haswell refresh so no problem with compatibility. I plan to oc as I have a h110i gt. This is switching from a stock fx 8320 btw. Base on pure performance what should I get?

Maximus VII Hero with i5 - The i5 is not that bad at editing and stuff its just not better than the i7. Check out the Maximus VII Ranger its pretty much the same xcept for sata prots and some small things and cheaper so you could still fit in the i7 4790k. Also z97 boards are the best for overclocking especially the RoG boards

As I said the i7 do work on the sabertooth out of the box and z87 supports devil's canyon however I am purely looking for performance and I want to know which one will oc better.

I can get the hero for the same price as the ranger, I was just curious as suprisingly the i7 combo is around 396 dollars where the i5 is 422 so im split. Microcenter have very good price on these intels
