Is this Clock speed worth the extra money?

Solution
I would recommend getting the 2GB version of the 960, the extra 2GB v-ram will perform the same and only usefull for sli. 2GB will run fine at 1080p even on titles like AC:Unity and Witcher 3, albeit without nvidia hairworks.

Between the two 4GB version, 30 dollar premium for extra clock speed is not worth it.

If you are comfortable with overclocking then i would recommend the more expensive 960 due to its slightly better cooling. equally you could try to overclock the cheaper version and might hit that clock speed, just be careful with throttling of the GPU. with my 660 (old i know) i can get a good 80Mhz on the core clock while still stable, but i find it runs fine core clock and when its OC it doesn't add much to the games fps.

^this. If you want 4GB, just get a 970. It's worth the extra $90 or so over a 4gb 960. That said, a 2gb 960 is plenty for a single 1080p monitor without heavy AA.
