I am looking to build a box to run PLEX media server exclusively. I currently run it on my everyday rig without issues, but I do not like keeping it on all the time. I also enjoy the feature of windows 8.1 of Storage spaces. With storage spaces, a software raid can be broken without losing any of the data.
Is there something similar for Ubuntu, Fedora, or CentOS? Windows is not needed (and expensive) for anything on the machine. I use this as part of my backup process (raid 1, and 2 externals)
