Is 8gb DDR3 ram enough

I was wondering if 8gb DDR3 ram is enough, i'm currently mixing songs in fl studio and guitar pro 6, gaming and coding for the web and programming java programs.

My system:
Graphics card: Nividia GeForce GTX 550TI
CPU: AMD FX-4100 4-core processor 3.60ghz with Corsair H60 liquid cooler
Motherboard: Asus M5A78-L USB 3.0
Ram: 4gb AMD Entertainment DDR3

So my question is, Is 8gb DDR3 ram enough or should i go to 16gb ram? And what kind of ram should i buy?

I use multiple monitors, one Acer V2223HQL and a Dell FP2000. So i usually watch 1080p movies while gaming and usually use my pc run up to 12h, so i dont restart if finished rendering or exited an game etc
