Hello

I mentioned before I am replacing my old psu.

I forgot to ask about something.

My psu was used on a old pc system which had a over clocked q6600 (3ghz), and the case didn't have very good cooling. No good case air flow. The psu that I am replacing is a Scythe Kamariki 4 750 watt psu. It is 80 plus rating but with out a metal color. It is 5 years old.

I ran that pc for 4 of the 5 years with the pc being on 13-16 hours a day. The last three years of the pc I had the cpu over clocked to 3ghz until I took the pc apart last month.

This psu has pretty much been stressed and should be replaced? Just making sure as I go out and buy a new psu.

Yes, 4 to 5 years or older definitely. At 3 years I would even entertain the thought of it. I think PSUs are BOTH the most important part of a build AND thee most over looked. When push comes to shove with the budget I see many people skimp on the PSU and that is really not the way to go.

BTW.. none of that is implied towards you personally. I am just saying from my experience seeing new builds that is a somewhat common occurrence.

But yes, I would start making plans for a new PSU from a reputable brand such as XFX, Seasonic, Corsair, or Enermax

I am looking at the Silver Stone SST-ST65F-G, Silver Stone SST-ST75f-GS, the Enermax Revolution XT 530 watt, and the Corsair CXM 650.

There are some FSP Autirum 92 psu's too.

That is what I am able to get in the area where I live.

My system has a i7 4790k, 16 gb 2133 DDR3 ram with 16 more gb being added later, 2 ssd's, 2 hdd's, GTX 660 soon to be a GTX970 or 980ti, 3 led 120mm fans, 1 120mm fan, Liquid cpu 240 cooler with 2 high performance 120mm fans, and a led case lighting kit with 2 strips.

Would any of these psu's be good for that?

Either of the silverstones or corsair will be fine for your needs
