I bounced around the idea of the I7 4970k but im looking into the I7 5960k pretty much just because. Although i know its not "the best" cpu out there. He wants 3x SLI Titan-x but i kinda like what i see with the GTX 980ti so far. Pretty much im just asking for a bit of help from the pc gods. As far as a MOBO im not sure what is top dog yet

I don't get why you would recommend normal ssds for a x99 build. You got the pcie lanes - might as well get a pcie x4 ssd. The samsung xp941 sells for just a bit more than the 850 pro but is more than twice as fast.

That aside, 4-way sli with a gtx 980ti with "only" 6gb vram doesn't seem that good. I'd rather wait for the gtx 990ti and sli it.

OK, if you say so.

Wow there are more replies than i expected from this. As far as waiting for the AMD Fury that might be possible seeing as how he wants to buy a few parts here and there but arent the AMD Fury supposed to meet the specs of the GTX 980ti? The price may be $100 cheaper but i think thats the only real difference. And with the GTX Titan yeah it has 12Gb Vram but i dont see that ever being fully used. Even with 4k. Plus with DX12 coming soon all that Vram "when its actualy fully utilized" will stack anyway.
I see in these builds there is the X99 and the ASUS Rampage MOBO. rather than looking them up ill ask you guys. Which is best? i hear a lot about the X99.

There is not "the best" motherboard. The motherboard generally has very little impact on performance, talking about <2% differences here between a $100 and a $500 board. Same goes for ram.
