Urgent Help needed About my new HDD

Hey I just Brought a New HDD But when i connected it.Older one gets detected on boot.And the second didn't said (NONE) Although also did not got detected either.I just opened the pack and Connected the sata and Power cable.Is this means my New drive is DOA?Or I have to format it in anyways?Thanks is advance

If you haven't already, format your drive through windows, make sure the sata and power cables are firmly connected as some can be very stubborn. Or in the BIOS, check to see if your motherboard at least detects it.

250Gb And the older one is also 250 gb.And Bios( I Think) did not recognized but found it as it was not showing as NONE.

Will do that anything else...I found that it is at the Device manager but in its properties it shows 0mb Capacity before formatting.Is this Normal?

Yikes, Doent look good if it shows 0mb.. try formatting them anyways and see what happens. My 500gb hdd did that once and it died.

Restart your pc, and immediately spam the delete key before windows loads up, doing so should take you into the BIOS which should be easy to find out if the motherboard detects it.

Yup restart ->press delete-> go to boot.. should have all of your boot drives there.

Did formatting work? If not just take it back and get a new one.. sometime ^%$$# happens.

nope It didn't worked .But I am hearing a noise of spinning inside the new one.and My mobo is kind of old .I am doubting that my mobo cant support new one...

Just return it. Also, it should not matter HDD takes like 20w so it would not make a big difference in your psu
