I'm looking to start from the beginning with a new computer. I've done as much research as I can find at present, but I'm still unsure as to whether everything will mesh properly. I'm concerned that A. The computer casing may be too small to fit the graphics card as it is a "Minitower Desktop". And B. I am concerned with bottlenecking. I know there are other pcs out there, but I have to stick with Dell, as the computer will be a gift. Would I have to upgrade/ enlarge the casing? Or is there another Dell pc that would work better. I am looking to stay under $1000 for the pc itself. Is there anything specific I need to get on the side, and will this work out in the long run as a good setup?

At present, I'm looking into:

--Dell 8700 with an i7-4790- http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-3847-desktop/pd?oc=ddcwrp220s&model_id=inspiron-3847-desktop

--GeForce GTX 980Ti- http://www.pny.eu/consumer/explore-all-products/graphics-cards/468-geforce-gtx-980-ti-6gb-gddr5

--The GS600 series PSU- http://www.corsair.com/en-us/gs-series-gs600-80-plus-bronze-certified-power-supply-2013-edition

Thank you all, and I am sorry if the posting is bad or in the wrong places as I'm newer to this.

While buying and upgrading isn't the worst idea, you'd be much better off building the whole thing by yourself. I recommend PCPartpicker for selecting components because it will detect any compatibility issues and figure out cost and wattage estimates. Good luck on whichever road you choose.
