Hello, I am thinking of buying a AX760 for my PSU on my future build because I saw it on a big sale on newegg.

I noticed that it said 4th gen certified but I am going to build a PC with a Skylake(6th gen?) CPU. I know it did not come out yet and I'm planning to build with one when it comes out in a few months. I am trying to slowly buying my parts starting with the PSU but I was wondering if it might work fine with my build. Have PSUs been known to be able handle a few gens in the future and be fine? Personally, I think it would because it is such a high end PSU but what do you guys think?

Do you think that it would be fine if I used a Skylake CPU on this PSU?
Also, would 760w be okay for my build even after minor upgrades?(Ram, Hard drives, Optical Drives, LED lights) Thank you!

Solution
The 4th Gen ready tag was added because some older power supplies won't turn on at very low load conditions. Gaming PCs rarely suffer from this problem in the first place. It will be fine to use with 5th and 6th gen processors. More then enough power for the overall build.

It won't be a Z97 board for a Skylake CPU. Z170 is the chipset and socket LGA1151

The PSU is fine. In fact it is one of Johnny Gurus highest rated lines. It wont have any issues running a Skylake CPU and as said, the 4th gen had the ability to run the CPU at super low power ratings (something like 0.05a in its highest C state) and lower end PSUs typically can't run that low.
