Hard Drive + Motherboard compatibility (Help)

First of all, I sincerely apologize if this has been posted on the wrong location, I do not spend much time in these forums.

I have a question regarding a hard drive that I currently have, the Samsung HD103SI ATA Device and a new desktop computer that I have on my sights, the specifications for the new PC are as follows, (do tell me if I have forgotten anything of importance, I'll gladly add it in in order to improve my chances of getting a precise answer! :) )

Intel® E3-1270 3.4GHz Xeon Quad-Core processor
8GB DDR3-memory
Motherboard with Intel C206 Chipset
Onboard Intel® 82579LM 10/100/1000Mb Gigabyte Networkadapter

Would the Samsung HD103SI ATA Device be compatible with this new desktop computer?

Thank you very much for your quick response, I have read your link and I believe that I do understand.

The HDD that I have, has a speed of 3.0GB/s while the motherboard has two ports that allow for a speed of 6.0GB/s would this still be compatible, or do the values have to be exactly the same?

Sorry if I misunderstand! I do appreciate the help though :)
