Hello dear Tom´s Hardware users,

I´m sick and tired of my iMac27" its sucks the gtx 660m is trash can´t play minecraft without my pc crying.... time for change :bounce:

I made a build at pcpartpicker < link. I am planing of spending around 2500Euros for this pc, I think is good enough, I´m already "veteran" at assembling computers, but I´m now outdated with pc parts, I´m from the 6970 generation since I have a mac I didn´t inform myself about the hot releases .

I have specially doubts if its a good Idea to buy already "old" components, I would save really a lot of money if I buy the 4 gen from intel, but the time I have the whole money, Windows 10 will already be launched and i7 6th gen will be out :/ making me at the beginning 2 gens late...

I was thinking of maybe the i7 5820k but that will be killer with the DDR4 price.

Now you guys maybe noticed how wicked I wen´t with the fans choices, giving I wanted a Sli I really wanted to make sure to cool as much as possible without spending a fortune, to make it simple I made a quick diagram how I wanted to set up my fans and why so much variety, maybe it will make it worst not sure i can put 3 120mm on thr corsair 540 but I think i can.

I mixed between high static pressure fans and max airflow, I´m not sure if it will cause turbulence but mounting like this I think I will get good results

Anyway thank you very much if you reache the bottom without passing out. :)

Solution
If you can wait a few more months, Skylake will be out and you should be able to score the "next Sandy Bridge" or Haswell/Devil's Canyon at lower prices.

Ezo Legendz thanks mate I think I will go for it, I will still wait for the Intel 6th gen, your awser probably was really the solution, really sorry for that.I wasn´t sure if 1 Gtx 980 ti would perform worst as 2 970 in SLi (Not sure, guessing) so I got the 970 in sli, in europe the GTX 980 are overpriced as hell and guiving I couldn´t afford 2 I wen´t for a cheaper sli.

The xeon has the same amount of proccesors as the i7 but it has no integrated graphics which you dont need becuase youre getting a graphics card. Also i really dont think you need that many fans

I will make a custom watercooling later I wanted to buy the fans in advance xD. What do you think of this proc :p ? http://www.amazon.de/IBM-E7-8890V2-Intel-15-Core-Prozessor/dp/B00ONT0KCM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434664015&sr=8-1&keywords=intel+xeon

Edit: Again questioning the PSU, I had once a cx series, is there really a logical reason to pay 35 euros more ? .

Yes PSU's are very important and need to be made from good stuff so your system doesnt get bad power which will destroy your components over time

But before you buy everything make shure to come back and ask again and see if the new processors will be worth it

I will for sure thank you.

I was actually having a tingling question on the back of my ear now that I think: When I choose my graphic card (GTX 980 TI) There is tons of choices and big price differences,, the two main differences I could notice is that the frequency is around 100 to 200 Mhz higher and the cooling seems better. Now supposing I will do Water cooling and heat isn´t a issue, would it be better for me to buy the cheapest slower stock card and overclocked it to a high end 400 euros more expensive card ?? or there is other difference than the cooler fan?? ex natively build to support higher over-volts etc... ?

Good question. Overclocking is not something that is guaranteed so your card could be a bad overclocker and you would not get much benefit and some cards are higher priced because of the coolers and some people just dont like manually overclocking their cards. But if your going to watercool your card i would say get the cheapest reliable brand one like ASUS or MSI and watercool it you will probably get a decent overclock on it
ps this is the lonbgest comment chain ever
