[SOLVED] Why should an AMD FX 8350 with 4x8GB at 1866 not be possible?

Hi,

I was rather surprised, while looking for EEC ram for my new home server, I read a lot about memory, speed and ranks. As I suddenly read a lot of statements here that it would not be possible to run a FX8350 with 4 modules at 1866.

Was this only my personal interpretation or is it really so off?

Because, at the moment, I have, for my desktop, a FX 8350 with Corsair 4x8GB running at 1866. Since the beginning without any issues. I did not have to increase the NB voltage as some people say nor did I have to reduce the speed.

I run the modules with the specified settings 10-11-10-24 (XMP) at 1866 and 1.5V.

Is my system an exception?

Best,
Sebastian

Yes it is possible, infact 2133 and 2400 is possible, it all depends on the individual CPU and the strength of it's MC (memory controller) as well as the users skills in setting things up, I recently did an article running 32GB sets on an Asus Crosshair with a 8370:

Oft time though, the 8350s will have problems with 32GB of 1866 and higher
