The Problem:
My PC has been running at 80%-MAX Memory and Disk usage for the past 3 days while almost idle and I have no idea how this could be happening. I did a full scan of my computer 4 times with my antivirus/anti-malware program, optimized/defraged my 1TB drive, and ran the Windows Error Check, all to no avail.

In Terms of the Disk:
Every time I boot up my computer my memory and disk are running at about 80%+ with only smaller programs running (eg. Chrome and Antivirus in the background).

Occasionally it maxes out my disk at 98%/99% with the same "workload" mentioned above.

In Terms of the Memory:
About every 5 minutes a window pops up saying that the PC is "low on memory". I'm completely lost as to how Google Chrome is using up 90% of my memory with only one tab opened.

As a matter of fact, my computer crashed (Probably as a result of low memory) as I was trying to create this post.

One last thing I would like to mention (might be related to this problem) is how a window is popping up every time I boot up my computer talking about a paging file that I never set up on my computer.

The System:
OS - Windows 8.1 (Latest Updates)
Processor - AMD FX-6300 Six-Core Processor @3.50GHz
Memory - 8GB Generic Brand
Hard Drive - 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue @7200RPM
(If you need any more system specs just let me know.)

***I would just like to update by saying that I am unable to run any programs other than Google Chrome (Barely even running that) without having my computer crash due to my memory maxing out.***

I am looking for ANY kind of solution or some crazy idea anyone can come up with to solve these problems. Thanks in advance for anyway in which you guys will help. :D

Solution
I would try this great anti-malware program:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/

If that doesnt work: Use a program called memtest86 which is a diagnostic test for ram. This program will have to be put on a usb (aka bootable usb) with a program such as rufus. You will have to press f12 or some f key to access the bios, boot from usb, and run memtest86. More comprehensive guide can be found hereL http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/246994-guide-to-using-memtest86/

HyperCellPC, how did you solve your issue?
Your thread is tagged 'Solved'!

I have exactly the same issue already for couple of months but I thought it was caused by low free disk space. After seeing your issue I realized that this must be something related to the OS. I'm using Win7 Pro 64 bit in an oldish Samsung Series 9 laptop (900X).
