Hey all I was just wondering if theres a set date time when the deals usually come in? I was hoping after the e3 pc conference wed see something discounted, More specifically Ive been looking at the (sapphire) r7 260x or Gtx 750 ti to drop right below the 120 mark. Im in a bind since with a 50 dollar amazon card im just a few bucks off that amazon price for the latter, pre rebate....

Solution
I would not expect a drop for another 30 to 60 days. The competition is going to sit back and watch how the R9 300 series sell. If they sell well then the opposition will likely be motivated to drop prices if they feel they are going to loose market share. It is too early at this point for either company to react.
The 300 series cards went on sale today. Based on the pricing, I don't think prices are going to change much.

But who knows what Nvidia is thinking. And its them that matters.

All we can do is sit back and try to be patient. Or buy something.

No one knows except the manufacturers and third party sellers. It stays in a close circle because why would they want anyone to know? Sell as many at as high a price as possible before a potential price drop instead of people saving up for the price drop.

Chances are there may not be one at all if the AMD Fury cards still don't beat NVIDIA like the others have failed to do.

well, don't give up hope. I believe back in Feb 2010? Prices of the HD3850 dropped like $80 in 3 weeks. I was amazed. Ever week I could see it going down.

Then a few years ago the price of the GTX 670 dropped by like $80 in a single week as the R9 280X was giving it too much competition.

I suggest either biting the bullet or just try to take your mind off of it by enjoying the summer (assuming you are in the northern hemisphere) then come fall cash in on all of the price drops. Plus SKYLAKE may be out by then also.

What is your current card?

If you plan to not game beyond 1080P then any $200 card should do just fine.

Gigabyte R7 360 2GB is $109.99 with free shipping at amazon right now. I suggest getting that one or keeping an eye on current best prices for the cards you are interested in from major online stores using a site such as pcpartpicker.com.

See what makes it wose is that with summer coming up I was gonna buy a fan but now it rises by 20. Same with the amazon deal of getting a free gift card when activating another. So now im kicking myself repeatedly for not biting when possible. I might just get the evga gtx 760 ti now then and just giv2 em a lower rating because they hiked their prie back up a bit too. So....yeah im pretty damn pissed at my rotten luck.

I got a shitty ati radeon 4350 hd. Cpu is only 2.6ghz so its not exactly great either. Got a good psu at least. So this will be my setup(the nvidia gpu) it looks like...at least until a year+ time. When im gonna make a serious upgrade im gonna need an intel ptocessor...which will require a new mobo and so on. By then GPUs damn well better be a drop in the bucket lol.

I've been following the prices of GTX 970's and R9 290X's for four months now.... and there's been very little change. Some models have gone down as much as $40, while other models haven't changed at all. I thought the release of the 300 series might dramatically effect the prices, but not so far.

Of course, Black Friday is just 5 short months away. How patient and cheap are ya?
