I would pick the GTX770.
Performance is comparable, and the price is less.
Moreover, amd R9 cards seem to have more issues:

Both graphics cards are comparable in performance.

I would not plan on dual cards as an upgrade path so long as there is a stronger single card that will do the job.

What is the rest of your pc?

For a similar price, I would opt for a GTX970 card.
It is a more modern card and needs less power.
For a lesser price, 2gb of vram should not be an issue.

Cause i got the 770 for 180$ from a freind
And the r9 280x is around 220$
Wich one do you recomend for me
As i have i7 4790 and z97 gaming 3 and 8 gb of ram
