video card for a emachine t5226

just looking to help the cpu out everything is on board vid/sound older or used one is fine its a spare unit could any help thanks John

That unit has a 480W Bestec power supply, you should replace this before you consider a GPU upgrade they are pretty poor in quality. When I had my shop it was common people would come in with Emachines with Fried Motherboards from a Bestec that decided to go. If you decide to replace the PSU then any GPU on the market would work but because of the CPU limitation these will give you a better experience for common use.

If you play games or do anything graphics intensive then a GPU can take the load off of your CPU.

If you just browse the web, use office, or watch youtube or even Netflix then buying a dedicated GPU is just a waste of money and you would be better off getting more ram or just saving up for a modern computer as that emachines PC came out in 2007.
