Hey guys i used to have 2x4GB Trancsend 1333mhz modules in dual channel but one of them broke but i couldnt find another one that is the same so i bough a Corsair Vengeance 4GB 1600mhz module and thankfully it works fine with the transcend. Now if i buy another corsair module can i run the 2 corsairs in dual channel then overclock the transcend to 1600mhz and have it by itself so i get 12gb of 1600mhz ram?

Solution
Overclocking RAM provides very little performance gain, however if you want to you can. Just run something like memtest afterwards and if you get any errors you can always reset it to 1333mhz. Unless you're going heavy video or graphic editing I wouldn't bother

Yes you can have all different kinds of RAM paired together. Most people don't do this however because it can sometimes cause issues. If it is working fine now I don't see how getting another corsair stick to pair with your current one should bring up any issues

Also do you recommend Overclocking the Transcend 1333mhz stick?keep in mind it doesnt have a heat splitter.I need to overclock it in order for the 2 vengeances to work in 1600mhz right?
