So I just received my router from ebay. The model is: D-Link DIR-605L. I did all the settings right but when I connect to the internet, it connects but the status is limited with a yellow icon and of course there is no internet. I tried to reset and set it up over 5 times and all failed.

The twist is my other laptop and all my devices connect and work perfectly with it. No problem at all. That's why the conclusion is a problem is coming this laptop.

Update: When I diagnose the network it gives me this message "the default gateway is not available" after following through the steps to solve it.
I also did the ipconfig /all. Copy pasted my gateway number to ipv4 and still nothing"

Any help please? I would love to see a reply once again in my life :p

Very much thanks.

Of course I tried going on websites and downloading but nothing is working.

I don't think I fully understand you here but I have 2 laptops and no PC. My main laptop is the one having problems. The second old laptop, which I don't use, works fine with the router. Same as my iPod and phone, they work.

I don't want to use the internet wired. I want to freely move with my laptop with internet access in the house. Hope I understood and answered your question accordingly.

Hi

can you find Device Manager ?

look at Network Adaptors
are there any errors shown for the wireless networking device.

If there is a hardware or software switch for the wireless device on the laptop make sure it is on.

when you say you reset it do you mean the router/wireless access point or the laptop?

Does the Laptop wireless connection interface show your wireless access point?

how far from the wireless access point are you when you tried to connect?

(In the same room should work unless the aerial connections to the laptop internal wireless card have come loose)

Finally was your laptop working on the old router/wireless access point or any other Wireless Access point recently?

regards

hey, thanks for replying

1) Nope, no errors shown at all. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall it few days ago. Nothing.
2) Yep, It's always on. That's how I can scan for wireless networks too of course.
3) I reset the router incase I did wrong settings and it was the right settings after all
4) Yes it shows the network and I can connect to it. After that it says connected and limited as status as I mentioned in OP.
5) I'm very close to the router. Less than a metre actually.
6) Yes, my laptop was working perfectly with my old router

Update: When I diagnose the network it gives me this message "the default gateway is not available" after following through the steps to solve it.

Thanks again in advance!
