Will the Asus Z87 Pro Take G.Skill

I am wondering if i can get 4x4 G.skill RipjawsX F3-17000CL11D in this motherboard. Its DDR3 and 240 pin so shouldnt it work?

Tried the model isnt there lots of other G.Skill though i mean its 240 pin ddr3 and the motherboard is 240 pin ddr3 -.-

You are looking at 2 sets of DRAM, so there's no guarantee the two sets will play nice, if wanting 4GB sticks get a 4x4GB set (that way you KNOW all four sticks have been tested to play nice) or better yet, get a 2x8GB set which is less stress on the MC (memory ontroller)

Changed my mind ill get the Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 because my ram is supported for sure in 4x4 and the ram is the same model number cas everything

Either mobo will run 4x4, but there's no guaratee they will run 2 sets of 2 sticks - you can pull sticks right off the assembly line and they might play or might not, which is why sticks in a package are tested to play nice

Makes no difference. That ram is 2x4gb. As Tradesman said "there's no guarantee the two sets will play nice"
