I have a 30 MB / 5 MB plan at the moment...(I get 36/6 which is good)

They have a promotion going on that for $10 more I can upgrade to higher speeds which would be 50 MB / 5 MB (I know no more uploads unfortunately =[ ). Hoping I would get like 55+, since I get 6 more MBS more than I'm suppose to with my original plan.

I basically just play games and watch videos, and stream on twitchwould the upgrade be worth going for? Or would it just be a waste since my 36 /5 speeds are more than enough for what I need?

I think 6 mb upload is good for streaming? right, I'm wanting 1080P HD streaming.

heres a video of splinter cell, this quality looks good? Sorry I'm a noob at this, I just got this internet, I'm use to having 3 MB speeds.

You basic assumption is correct if you do not use the 30m you already have you will get no advantage going to the 50m plan.

The upload speed is greatly dependent on the codex they use to encode the video and the amount of difference between the frames. So you would have to dig though the documents to see what options they give on the encoder they use.

I play a fighting game called tekken, and it uses a ton of bandwidth (netcode isn't that good), how do I know for sure that I'm not using all of my 30 mb when gaming?

Would the 50 help at all for gaming/streaming? I wish it gave me a boost in upload :(...

is there forums on here to help with obs streaming questions? or better off going to their forums?

thanks.

If you are running it on a PC you can see how bandwidth you are using with the resource monitor.

It would be outright stupid for a game company to make a game that only people with huge internet connection can play. Many people are lucky to get 10m and many more can only get DSL that maybe runs 1m. A game company wants money from as many people as possible so most games are well under 1m of bandwidth when you are playing. Downloading patches and such is a different story but actually playing the games use very little bandwidth.

ahh ok, well the tekken game, only can play with people on the same coast as you, and you have to have like 8 mb + internet to have no lag...the netcode is horrible...

its a console game

so the $10 upgrade from 30 to 50 isn't worth it then?

if it had upgraded upload speeds, id do it but ehh just debating..
