antec vp700p vs thermaltake smart se 730w

The capacitor quality in both models is about the same. The Antec VP700P uses all CapXon capacitors and the Thermaltake Smart SE 730W uses a mix of AiSHi and CapXon capacitors.

They are budget PSUs so don't expect any great quality from them.

what about the cooler master g750m http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/modular-gm-series/g750m/.

If it's the SilverStone Strider Essential Gold 700W then sure. That model uses better quality components and uses a more modern circuit design.

If it's the SilverStone Strider Essential Bronze 700W ST70F-ESB it's no better than the previous models you were looking at. This model is based on an older group regulated circuit design and is built with cheap capacitors.

They're actually good PSUs. Internal component quality could be better but according to TPU the vreg and ripple suppression on those are fantastic.

The 550W model that TPU reviewed uses a Japanese Panasonic primary capacitor and a mix of CapXon and JunFu capacitors on the secondary.

The 750W model uses two JunFu capacitors on the primary and a mix of CapXon and JunFu capacitors on the secondary.

That's definitely not better, quality-wise.

This would be a lot quicker if you list the parts your using, where your going to buy from, and what you can spend.

Did you even read what I said before replying? It shows it above if you need it again. I said that internal components like capacitors could be better. Vreg and ripple were what I was praising the GM for.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/CoolerMaster/G550M/

And I said, above, that the latest published return rates due to failure show that the Cooler Master GM series have the highest rates.

Capacitor quality determines reliability. Voltage regulation and ripple and noise levels won't matter if the PSU has failed.

What reviews fail to show is anything about reliability because it is a sampling of only one unit.

The reviews can also be bad because they can hand pick a good one out of the lot the same as getting the +certification.
Most people have no clue about power supplies it's good to see somebody that actually looks at what their made of.
