Mouse works but no letters in password come up when using keyboard W7 pro

This won't fix the problem but it will let you login. Click on the red icon on the bottom left hand side of the screen and that should bring up the Accessibility options. One of those is the onscreen keyboard so you can click on each letter or number of your password.
Once you're in, go to Control Panel>Keyboard>Properties and check that the "Allow this device to wake the computer" is ticked. While you're in there, click on Update Driver.
