I am currently doing my first build and would like some opinions and suggestions for the parts I've chosen. Please and thank you.

Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Extreme6/ac ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($173.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($104.89 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($97.89 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.99 @ Newegg)

1. Budget: 1600 to 1800
2. Intended use: mostly gaming, but also video editing.
3. Overclocking: possibly. But hopefully not to soon.
4. Multiple GPUs: yes, but as an upgrade
5. If gaming, desired games: modded skyrim. Lots of rpg's and the occasional shooter to play with friends. And emulators.

I could swear I've seen this build before, did you just copy-paste from somewhere? I don't think this is your first build, I think this is somebody else's first build, but I digress, this is what I would do:

Intel Xeon E3-1241v3,
Thermaltake NiC-4,
Asus H97 PRO,
Cruicial memory 16GB DDR3-1600MHz,
40GB M.2 Card for OS,
2TB WD black edition for storage,
Cooler master HAF XB EVO,
GTX 980 (or 980 Ti, depending on how cheap you can get the other stuff)

Now you see, that is the good stuff, that is original, not that copy-cat stuff you've got there!

Ok, that's better.

I would change the RAM to 1866 or 2133 Mhz. If you're not going to overclock any time soon, save some money and buy an air cooler (Cooler Master Hyper 212 or the Cryoig H7). Modded Skyrim, 980 GTX. While some people have had issues with the .5 GB of slower RAM on the 970 GTX, the 980 will help out simply for the complete 4GB speed and it's just a stronger GPU. Depending on mods, you may hit the 4GB ceiling. Let's go ahead and change the PSU to support a second GPU. Drop the NEX (average PSUs anyways). Look for a 850 watt PSU (EVGA G2 is a decent price).
