my laptop spec-
intel t4500 2.3ghz, 4gb ram.
only 3gb of ram is usable. initial start up window uses round about 800-900 mb of ram but as i keep turn on the system, usage of ram increase to 2gb. i dont even use any program why does it become like that? i am thinking about to use 64 bit OS. is 64bit OS like that too?

Solution
Your seeing only 3GB RAM usable because 1GB is shared with the integrated graphics chip because this chip doesn't have it's own dedicated video memory like a discrete graphics card does.

Installing 64-bit Windows will certainly help in this regard since you won't be limited to 4GB RAM. You can install as much as your laptop board supports. Your Intel T4500 CPU supports 64-bit Windows so no problem there.

However, the only (possible) fly in the ointment is if your laptop manufacturer does not have Win7 64-bit drivers for your particular laptop model, so check their website first.
